Pastor Mike Elliott
Senior Pastor
Mike grew up in a Pastor’s home where he was taught the word of God and the importance of the Church. During his Sophomore year of college he felt the call to ministry and has pursued the pastorate ever since. He graduated with a Biblical Studies degree from Liberty University, and most recently he received his Master of Divinity (2009) and Master of Theology (2011) from The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, California. Mike is married to Andrea and they have five sons: Miles, Trenton, Wesley, Hudson and Knox.
PASTOR Matt Fabarez
STAFF PASTOR
Matt was born and raised in Orange County, attending Compass Aliso Viejo since its inception. In high school, God saved him and gave him a desire to serve the church full-time. He graduated from Boyce College (Louisville, KY) with a Bachelor's in Biblical Studies as well The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, KY) with a Masters of Divinity in Biblical and Theological Studies. Matt and his wife Karina have two sons, Levi and Ezra.
PASTOR Nate Mason
STAFF PASTOR
Nathaniel was born and raised in Southern California and has been attending Compass Bible Church since high school. He received a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Cal State Long Beach and is currently pursuing his MDiv. He has been active in Children’s Ministry at Compass since 2010, serving as a teacher, small group leader, and ministry leader. He has a passion for taking every opportunity to partner with parents in teaching the truth of God's word to their children. He and Elise, his wife since 2013, have three children, Abigail, Silas, and Eden.
Erica Schrader
Assistant to Pastor Elliott & Director of Women’s ministry
Erica was born and raised right here in Orange County and has a deep love for the people of Southern California. Before being called into full-time ministry, she was a pre-med student and worked as an assistant for an Orthopedic Surgeon in Newport Beach. Erica transitioned to full-time vocational ministry in 2012 and ultimately obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministries from Cal Baptist University in Riverside, California (2016). Erica is also a certified member of ACBC (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors) and holds a Biblical Counseling Certificate from Compass Bible Institute (2022). She is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Erica has been married to her husband, Mike, since 2006 and they have four children: Sofia, Olivia, Zachary, and Timothy.
Justin Zawislak
Director of Worship Ministry
Justin and his wife Amanda have been attending Compass ever since moving to California from the east coast in 2012. He completed his BFA in Computer Animation in 2009, and has worked as an artist in advertising and video games since then. He has played guitar and piano in music ministries for over ten years, and has been leading student worship on a volunteer basis at Compass AV for almost four years. He’s now thrilled to join the Tustin team and continue leading God’s people in song on a weekly basis. Justin and Amanda have three boys - Jet, Joel, and Asher.
Trisha Chiu
Assistant to pastor matt & office administrative assistant
Trisha was born and raised in Orange County and graduated from Biola University in 2020. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing Management and a minor in Biblical and Theological Studies. Compass Bible Church Tustin has been her home church since the beginning coming from Compass Bible Church Aliso Viejo.
malina Brewer
Children’s ministry coordinator
Malina is married to Stephen and they have three children Max, Zoe and Levi. She has attended Compass Bible church Tustin since its inception and has worked in kids ministry since 2009 at Compass Bible Church of Aliso Viejo. She has experience working with all age ranges of children and looks forward to working alongside and supporting the Kids Min team in laying a solid biblical foundation for our Compass Kids.
Ian Hass
ministry Intern
Ian grew up in Tustin with a family that loves the Lord and is committed to the church. He attended Voyagers Bible Church from his birth and into his college years and is now excited to join the community at Compass Bible Church Tustin. By May of 2024, Ian will have graduated from California State University Long Beach with a bachelor's degree in business economics and will begin attending The Master's Seminary the following fall semester to pursue a Master's of Divinity.
Chloe Jones
Media Administrator
Chloe was born and raised in Southern California and has been attending Compass Bible Church Tustin since 2020. Her responsibilities are everything media: from the website to social media, to marketing for Compass Bible Tustin. Chloe also serves in the medical ministry, on the worship team, and oversees all photography. She works full-time as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and has been married to her husband, Austin, since 2021.
Jeremiah Telado
tech Director
Jeremiah was born in Malaysia, immigrated to the US in 1989, and has lived in Orange County since 1994. He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Business from Cal Poly Pomona and is a California Professional Registered Engineer. He started serving in Tech at Compass Aliso Viejo in 2009 and has served as the Tech Director at Compass Tustin since its inception. Jeremiah and his wife, Jamie, have been married since 2012 and have three children, Nathaniel, Nicholas, and Annelise.
Josh White
Facilities Manager
Josh grew up in Southern California and became a Christian in 2014. He has been attending Compass Bible Church Tustin since 2018. He has led the set-up and tear-down team over the past few years and enjoys getting the church ready for various events and services throughout the week, as well as ensuring all aspects of the building are working optimally. Josh works full time in outside industrial sales and he and his wife, Alyssa, have been married since 2018 and have one daughter, Lucy.
